When I first heard about this game, my reaction was “-_-“, but then I thought “Well, maybe it will be somewhat entertaining.”….I was wrong. Operation Raccoon City might just be the worst Resident Evil Game I’ve ever played.
The Gameplay is just trash. The Cover system doesn’t work at all, Melee attacks don’t do any damage, The Controls are broken, and enemies just absorb ammo. You’re only two options story wise are too either play Singleplayer with the terrible dumb AI, or online Multiplayer with either your Friends or strangers that are just as bad as the AI. Unfortunately, none of my friends played the game, so I was stuck with playing with Strangers.
You should just ignore the story mode as a whole; it’s poorly written and feels very rushed. Basically, the entire story is a poorly done what-if situation, where several HUNK rip-offs go around trying to be cool, however realizing that they lack actual creativity, they decide that maybe if they killed all the good characters in the RE series, they would be the only ones left to like. So you just run around Raccoon City trying to enjoy the game, Spoiler Alert: YOU DON’T!
If there’s one good thing about Operation Raccoon City, it would be Heroes mode. I actually had a really great time playing it, and it feels like this is where all the effort for the game was made. But seriously, don’t buy this game unless you find it for like $10, that’s all it’s worth. 3.5/10
